Do you have sensitive skin? Are you tired of products with toxic chemicals? Are you vegan? If you answered yes to any of these questions, 103 Collection may be the clean, Black-owned, skincare brand for you.
103 Collection is a vegan and cruelty-free brand that offers hair, skin, body, beard, and shaving products specifically formulated for sensitive skin. They are safe, non-toxic, and have transparent labeling of ingredients.
After a successful launch in Target stores nationwide, 103 Collection is proud to announce that its Vegan Antioxidant Skincare Bundle can now be purchased at select Meijer stores in Chicago, IL, and Detroit MI.
“It works well with all skin types, but the suggested frequency of use depends on your skin,” owner Melinda Herron said. “If you have extremely oily skin, you can use it every day. If you have combination skin, we suggest about three to five times a week. If you have normal skin, we would say you probably need to exfoliate once a week.”
This skincare bundle is the brand’s star product and was previously featured in Kinder Beauty’s monthly beauty box. With powerful yet gentle plant-based ingredients like Gotu kola, wild geranium, and rhubarb extract, the bundle promises smooth, dewy skin with regular use.
Another fan favorite from 103 Collection is their Vegan Marshmallow Body Bundle — which features products containing marshmallow root, a natural skin inflammation, and irritation soother.
Melinda and Delfondo Herron, a wife-husband duo, created the brand in 2015. Melinda has always had sensitive skin and her husband, Delfondo, suffers from eczema. As a licensed cosmetologist, Melinda is aware of the importance of quality products. So when it came to body, face, and hair products, she was always searching for the cleanest products.
In the couple’s pursuit to only use the best ingredients on their body, they discovered that most personal care products contain harmful chemicals and ingredients like parabens and synthetic fragrances.
So, in 2015 the couple began experimenting in their kitchen with different ingredients and started using the products they were making. Not unsurprisingly, they noticed a big difference in the condition of their skin and hair. Soon after, they decided to share their discovery with everyone else needing sensitive beauty products.
Melinda wants customers to know, “you do not have to be vegan for vegan products. Our products are vegan so that those with sensitive skin can have safe and clean products,” she said.
