Biography

On this day in 1954, Oprah Winfrey was born Orpah Gail Winfrey, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. After graduating from Tennessee State University, she began her career as a talk show host. Although her career got off to a rough start, she began acting which ultimately led to her highly successful talk show, the Oprah Winfrey Show.
