This summer, virtual tutoring from Black-owned AddictiveMath, Inc. can help your child build the skills and confidence they need to excel in school this upcoming year. Whether your child is struggling to keep up with schoolwork or making the best grades in the school, summer tutoring can give them an academic edge in the fall.

“Our goal is to help them get ahead or see the material ahead of time. So they’re like ‘Oh, I saw this, this summer,” founder Jamila Robinson told We Buy Black.

AddictiveMath, Inc. specializes in virtual K-12 tutoring in math, science, reading, and language arts. More than just a tutor, AddictiveMath attends to the whole student. They have an understanding that learning is much more than practice and repetition. AddictiveMath’s whole student approach includes; One-on-one teaching, partnering with parents to ensure students are getting enough rest, and educating parents on brain-powering foods.

“We can tutor them all day long but if they are staying up all night and eating junk food, it’s not going to work,” she said, stressing the importance of rest and a healthy diet for children.

Beyond diet, rest, and tutoring, Robinson says the last element that has the greatest determination of how well a child will do in school is confidence.

“After a few sessions, you start to see their confidence building. We meet them where they are and they work one-on-one with the teachers, so they feel comfortable speaking up and taking risks.”

Addictive Math’s curriculum follows the Common Core Standards. They incorporate the AKS (Academic Knowledge and Skills) from each state into each lesson and for older students, they teach challenging word problems students may encounter on the SAT, ACT, IQ, and Logic Test.

In addition to being skilled at working with neurodivergent children who may have ADHD or other issues, AddictiveMath is also a great choice for parents who want to help their children get ahead and familiarize themselves with the material before the school year starts.

If you’re ready to get started with AddictiveMath, now is the time to fill out their online intake form and get the process going. Someone from their team will contact you and get more information about your child, where they are in school, and any desired areas of work.
