Beyonce continues to personify Black excellence as the star has now partnered with Google to donate more scholarship money to four more HBCUs. According to a press release on Bey’s website, Google has matched the $100,000 donation that the artist previously gave to Xavier University of Louisiana, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University to benefit other HBCUs such as Texas Southern University, Fisk University, Morehouse College and Grambling State University. After Bey’s first HBCU inspired Coachella performance, she revealed that she was awarding the first four selected schools each with $25,000. One student from each of these schools will get the money to pay for their tuition and other college expenses. So now, with Google also stepping into the mix, the eight schools with be awarded with $200,000 total for the 2018-2019 year. “We salute the rich legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” Ivy McGregor, director of philanthropy and corporate relations at Parkwood Entertainment, said, “We honor all institutions of higher learning for maintaining culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students.” Salute Bey!!!]]>
