President Obama left us a gift that could greatly increase Black wealth. In 2012, Obama signed The JOBS Act, which allows individuals like you and I to fund our own businesses (also known as “equity crowdfunding”). The 10K Project ™ allows everyday people to join for $100 and have the opportunity to invest in innovative, Black-owned businesses. The concept is simple: If 10,000 people invest as little as $100 into a business, we’d raise $1 million to fund that company and you, as an investor, would receive equity (or ownership) in that business.
Over the next decade, The 10K Project ™ plans to help more than 2,000 Black entrepreneurs raise the funds they need to start and grow their enterprises and every Black family has an opportunity to have ownership in those companies.
As part of a national movement to fund Black businesses and bridge the Black wealth gap, a group of entrepreneurs have launched a 100% black-owned equity crowdfunding platform to create a new generation of Black entrepreneurs. In addition to accessing opportunities to invest, members will have access to financial literacy webinars, wealth building educational resources, community forums and the ability to network and learn from each other.
Entrepreneurs currently have the ability, through equity crowdfunding, to raise up to $1,070,000. What could a Black business do with $1 million? Funds could be used for marketing, hiring team members, manufacturing products, and much more.
Through The 10K Project ™, we – as a people – have the ability to fund our own businesses, create our own jobs, profit from our own innovation, and close the wealth gap. The more members we have as part of the community, the more businesses can receive funding.
Black people need not beg anyone to fund their businesses or create prosperity. Together as a community we can accomplish greatness for ourselves. We are the village! The 10K Project ™ is activating the blueprint and you need to be an investor and member of this community now!
The 10K Project ™ will fund businesses from all industries, at various stages of growth. These businesses must have a viable business plan, a scalable concept, and a strong team.
For a one-time fee of $100, members will have lifetime membership and access to ALL of the investment opportunities on the platform. Members will also as have access to a multitude of investor and financial literacy trainings, including guest speakers from all areas of finance. This newly acquired knowledge will put our members on the path to financial wellness, giving them the roadmap needed for true financial freedom. Members will also have exclusive access to weekly pitches from Black entrepreneurs seeking funding for their businesses. Those entrepreneurs will offer equity in their company or debt for investment. After hearing pitches, members have complete control over whether they’d like to invest in the company.
After businesses are funded, they will need resources to thrive including legal support, accountants, digital marketers, business strategists, and more. The 10K Project ™ is developing a network of partner organizations that can offer this vital support to newly funded entrepreneurs. The 10K Project’s ™ ecosystem is one that optimizes the likelihood of success for Black entrepreneurs and returns for its investing members.

The organization already has several investor education webinars scheduled and is finalizing the information guide for entrepreneurs who wish to raise capital on the equity crowdfunding platform. Simply put, there isn’t another Black platform like this anywhere, the time to join is now.
