She’s not even 18 and already this writer’s books are being used in the curricula of three school districts. The Chronicles of the Middle School is a series conceived and written by Essynce Moore. The series consists of three books: 6th Grade Middle School Chronicles, 7th Grade Middle School Chronicles and 8th Grade Middle School Chronicles. To date, Moore’s books are being used by Brooklyn, NY Charter Schools, Orange and Hillside, NJ School Districts.
Middle school can be quite challenging. Middle school students are more likely to report being bullied than high school students — 39% to 27%. Middle school is also a period in which young people are grappling with the changes in their body and increased social pressures, all while trying to navigate an escalating academic load. If ever there were a time when young people needed encouragement and guidance, this is it. Moore’s books are aimed at improving self esteem and conflict resolution. They are also designed to encourage young people and inspire them to actualize their potential.
Essynce is a fabulous writer, speaker and entrepreneur. She was introduced at New York Fashion Week, as well as Atlanta Kids Fashion Week. Essynce is obviously a special young woman but also a reminder that our kids have genius and it must be cultivated. There is no right age to become an entrepreneur. All of us have skills, talents and knowledge that can be monetized, if we only dare to believe it. Essynce is just the latest example of it.
