According to the owner and CEO of Champ Boxers, Jawwaad Saleem, this quote inspired his father, Malik Saleem, to start the business. The elder Saleem, who is part-owner of True Laundry Detergent, started Champ in 2009 after noticing a gap in the market for Black-owned boxers and briefs. After watching his father build the company, Saleem was inspired, and in 2018, he took over the brand. Once at the helm, Saleem rebranded the company with the mission to provide the everyday Black man with the necessities to add confidence and style to his wardrobe.
“We focus on providing high-quality apparel, alongside great customer service,” added Saleem.
Champ Boxers is a brand dedicated to elevating the experience of how well boxer briefs fit. Saleem describes his brand as “premium, comfortable, and tasteful.” Undergarments are daily essentials, and having the best premium boxers to compliment your everyday movement while providing security is the bare minimum, and Champ is going above and beyond. The company is known for how its boxers fit and feel, with customers describing them as secure and comfortable.
“The boxers are comfortable and are made out of thicker cotton material. The bands of the boxers are also thick, so they fit tight and secure, but at the same time, it feels like you have nothing on,” Saleem described .
The company has many different styles of boxers, from solid colors to original designs, and patterns that you won’t see anywhere else. The boxers also come in a three-pack with three colors, Black, Grey, and Burgundy, with sizes ranging from small to 3XL.
“Our focus is to provide premium boxers to the everyday person. Whether you’re an athlete or work a 9-5, they fit comfortably under any attire. We focus on providing a great experience and great product for our customers,” emphasized Saleem.
The brand is still a family effort, with Saleem’s brother, Muhammad Saleem, and cousin Anton Turner being active partners in the business.
