Omari McQueen doesn’t think he’s “special” at all but he definitely is. At the age of 10 he’s the CEO of Dipalicous. The company makes a variety of vegan dips and soon will produce snacks. In other words, Omari is just getting started and he’s a culinary mogul in the making.
Dipalicous was created in 2017 when Omari was just 8 years of age. Having always loved cooking, Omari started his own YouTube channel, “The Mari Maker Show.” While creating a vegan pizza, Omari came up with an idea to have a vegan dip to go with his pizza. On that day he made his first ever vegan dip, the Caribbean Kick. The company now offers a variety of dips and Omari is officially a job creator.
Omari’s story is illustrative of several principles. In the first place, your age is irrelevant. Whether you’re young or old, you create your success. Omari’s story also shows us that you don’t need to be special or have a big platform to start a business. With a simple passion, YouTube channel and a decent idea, Omari made it work. Speaking of decent ideas, we should also put to rest the notion that only tech entrepreneurs can make it big. Like Omari, it’s very likely that you are currently doing something everyday that could be monetized.
Omari doesn’t consider himself special and in a sense, he’s right — you can do it, too. Still, this young man is rare and a treasure. He should be applauded for his hustle and ingenuity. We should also be inspired to pursue our own passions. Today we’re talking about Dipalicous, tomorrow it should be you!
