Founder Michael Baptiste’s journey to starting High Ticket Freedom five years ago is a true reflection of triumphing over one’s trauma. His story of launching an award-winning digital marketing firm was unexpected but began when Baptiste gave up his basketball scholarship and left college.
Born and raised in South Miami, Florida, to a single mother, Baptiste grew up in a low-income community and always knew there weren’t many opportunities to “make it out.” But he did know that he was good at basketball – so good that he got a full college basketball scholarship. Unfortunately, his coach created an unhealthy environment, which drove Baptiste into depression. His depression worsened after a physical injury and he knew he no longer wanted to be at the school or on the team, so he dropped out and gave up his scholarship.
Baptiste went back to Florida, desperate to figure out what he could do next. He took a year off to figure everything out. After his break, he enrolled in Florida Memorial University, where he took business classes. Baptiste learned the ropes of digital marketing from an advertisement that promised to teach him how to make money. After making $20 in 10 minutes, he never looked back. He knew he had found his calling.
“I knew two things after I made that $20: one, I was going to do this for as long as possible until I get the result I want, and two, I’m going to share this with as many people as possible – people who are stuck like I was,” Baptiste said.
Baptiste continued his digital marketing pursuit while playing basketball at Florida Memorial University, where he garnered accolades. Soon, he partnered and co-founded Banana Wave Banana Milk. And by 2016, with the help of Baptiste, Banana Wave Banana Milk grew its profits and landed accounts with Walmart and Whole Foods to carry the milk in the store. Learning from that experience, Baptiste decided to start The Greater Media Agency and High Ticket Freedom to help people enter the digital marketing industry.
Before starting High Ticket Freedom, Baptiste made sure he could teach an effective program, so he created two students. Once the students returned with positive results, Baptiste knew it was time to share his talents with his community.
