The NBA Suspends Season: What’s Our Next Move?

The NBA has suspended games for now, after a player tested positive for the Coronavirus. The announcement is huge, given the potential impact on NBA revenues: billionaires don’t like to lose out on money, ever. With the NCAA Tournament also opting to move forward without fans, the situation seems to be getting even more serious. There is a temptation to panic but in fact, this is a time to make strategic moves, in order to build wealth.

It’s time to invest. Historically, crises reveal opportunities and and this current pandemic will likely be no different. Yes, there has been and will be tragedy and grief but the world continues to spin. For those who remain after this crisis subsides, life will go on and for those who’ve made the proper investments, their lives will be better than those who did not. Here are a few areas to consider investing in:

Travel

No one wants to jump on a cruise or airplane right now. Hotel occupancy rates are also lower than average, these days. It’s very likely that stock prices for airlines, hotels and cruise lines will continue to sag, meaning you can buy low today and reap the benefits later when, inevitably, travel will pick up again.

Real Estate

Restaurants, stores and other small businesses will struggle, as consumers spend more time at home. Many of those businesses, unfortunately, will have to close shop. For those looking to lease space, eager landlords will be easier to find, in the months to come. For those owners who default on their loans, they will leave behind empty commercial spaces that the banks will want to get off their books. In addition, the impact on businesses will eventually reach the mortgage market, meaning more housing inventory will become available. More availability means lower prices and that means more investment opportunities.

Cleaning Services

It is without question that there will continue to be a spike in demand for professional cleaning services. If you offer such services, now is the time to market. People need assurance that their homes and businesses are safe spaces and a professional in the cleaning lane can provide that assurance.

This is now a global pandemic and that is a serious thing. While the pain and tragedy many suffer should never be downplayed, it doesn’t mean that the future should be met without preparation.
