Where can Black entrepreneurs go to pitch their business ideas? At this year’s We Buy Black Convention we will host the first “Pitch Black” competition. Pitch Black will be a “Shark Tank” styled competition where Black entrepreneurs from across the country will have an opportunity to pitch and receive constructive feedback on their business ideas. This is a competition like no other and you will not want to miss it.
Since stats have been kept, Black unemployment has always been twice white unemployment. That gap will not be closed simply by Black people successfully applying for jobs at big companies or getting their side hustle on with Uber. What is needed is the growth and development of Black owned businesses, who in turn will hire Black employees. Often, however, Black entrepreneurs struggle to access the capital needed to start or scale their companies. At this year’s Convention, however, we are collectively making moves to empower ourselves.
