There weren’t many healthy food options in the Bronx. Styles P didn’t complain, he did something about it. Juices for Life is a local juice bar that serves up natural and healthy beverages. Styles has considered juicing a lifestyle for many years and he wanted to share the benefits of it with his community. Juices for Life started with a simple mission and for several years it has proven to be a viable business.
Today Styles and Jadakiss own two locations in the Bronx and one in Yonkers. Their passion and success caught the eye of another New York influencer who grew up in community that lacked healthy food options. Angela Yee lives in Bed-Stuy and grew up in Flatbush. Yee wanted in so she made it her business to track down Styles P in order to get involved. With his blessing, Yee was able to open up a fourth Juices for Life location in Brooklyn.
This story illustrates the beautiful convergence of Black entrepreneurs solving the problems of their own community and working collaboratively towards business goals. We have the power to solve our community’s problems and in doing so, create a profit and jobs. We can also go further by working together. Jadakiss and Styles P have their own platforms but certainly benefited by opening up their business to Angela Yee and what she could do in helping them expand. Ultimately, the community wins.
